we got ATW10 after 9 years of begging and now she has finally acknowledged July 9th after 13 years of begging.....look what matters is that we win in the end
✨ The thing about well written songs is that they were initially been written by the songwriter about one specific thing but they can be easily applied to many other situations - even by the songwriter themselves !
✨ Midnights is a particularly strong example of an album that contains a lot of songs about common human experiences and I think that’s why there is so much discourse arguing about who these songs are about - when in the end that’s missing the point.
✨ at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter the original intent of a song, so much as how a song is presently related to by the listener.
✨ examples: bejeweled, mastermind, question…?, lavender haze, the Great War, yoyok, midnight rain, antihero, these are all songs that Taylor obviously wrote about something.
✨ It is a testament to her ability to write to the universal human experience that they are so easily applicable to more than just the initial inspiration
✨ it would be super if her writing talent was more universally acknowledged and championed, and the primary topic of discussion, and her own fans celebrated her songwriting abilities.
✨ imagine if the vibes centered around how effortless it is for these songs to take on new meanings so quickly, and how we can easily make these songs about our own lives (as she’s been asking people to do), than ongoing dissection of their origin for the sake of either gossip or narrative-forming about her personal life
i think. and this is gonna sound super corny but whatever. that you don't really realize how resilient you are until you are put in the position where you simply. must survive something. so like, during the relationship, you might be like 'i would never survive if we broke up', you might have all these night-terrors about it. but when it happens, and you still have to get out of bed every morning, you realize how tough you are. you realize that you've always been tough enough to weather any and everything, that you've gotten yourself through so much, so you can survive this too. & that doesn't mean you're not grieving! but i just don't think you realize how strong you are until you have to be strong.
life really is just like. you meet people you love them and then you lose them and you never see them again. and it's inevitable and it happens to everyone and there's nothing you can do about it
